Yes, 'tis the
Bachmann HO Scale Lafayette donor. The donor can be purchased for
around $50 to $60 depending where you get it. It is purely
freelance but has the flavor of those tiny teakettles that worked the
plantations. It really isn't that much smaller than the Bachmann Porter!
There are 22 resin parts thus far and maybe a few more when it goes into
production this fall. Its only for pulling tiny cars and not that many.
It will be limited production - one run only. It is not a shake the box
type kit. The builder needs to have some experience in bashing and
working with styrene, but it is not difficult. Most of the parts are
cast resin, but the roof and cab posts are styrene and must be fitted.
Just tiny and delicate.
The couplers (Kadee #148), headlight and cab details are not included.
The last photo shows how it compares to the Bachmann Porter. It is very close in scale and will look great pulling a few hopper loads of Pepito's Beans!!!!

These tiny cars were developed for the Pepito's Pintos series as field cars for the agricultural railway, however, they are perfect for a tiny mining operation in conjunction with the Grandt Line mining cars and the smaller Gilpin Tram Hopper. The cars are tiny at 5' wide and 12' long. They are made to use Kadee HO Archbar Trucks and couplers (not included).
This series is perfect for S scale too! Let your imagination go!
